Boeing Announces Lockheed Martin Partnership

The Boeing Co. and Lockheed Martin announced its partnership on a contract to develop a mobile small diameter bomb called SDB II. The announcement, originally scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 29, was postponed to Wednesday, Oct. 5.

As we looked at who we should partner with, we really thought Lockheed had the best, most mature technology, and as we put the team together, we thought it made the strongest team, said Mark McGraw, vice president of Boeing's Weapons Enterprise Capabilities Center in St. Charles, during a conference call with Lockheed Martin officials and media representatives.
