Summary


During the 1990s, St. Charles County officials touted Highway 40 as a high-tech corridor. That enthusiasm became more muted after the tech bubble burst in 2000, but the county is beginning to see renewed interest in the corridor.

Last month Enterprise Rent-A-Car acknowledged that it is planning a major expansion to its information services department in Weldon Spring, where about 350 employees now work. The expansion, set to begin next year, will eventually more than double the company's work force there. (See April 24 Business Record.) And on May 16, National Information Solutions Cooperative will move into its new $18 million, 135,000-square-foot building, located on a 37-acre site close to Highway 40 in Lake Saint Louis. Approximately 250 employees currently work out of its two locations in St. Peters.
