According to a statement made by project manager Gino Bernardez, P.E.: The improved park will increase tourism by enabling the city to accommodate softball tournament play, thereby attracting teams from the surrounding area. The park improvements include three new ball fields, interior roadways and parking lots, landscaping and associated irrigation systems, and a concession building that includes a press box and rest rooms.
