Administrative professionals often are considered the unsung heroes of the office, but this month many employers will hopefully be singing their praises. In a survey, two-thirds, or 66 percent, of executives polled said they believe it's important to administrative staff that they be recognized on Administrative Professionals Day, which is April 27.

The survey was developed by OfficeTeam, a leading staffing service specializing in highly skilled administrative professionals. It was conducted by an independent research firm and includes responses from 150 senior executives at the nation's 1,000 largest companies. Administrative Professionals Day and Administrative Professionals Week (April 24-30) are sponsored by the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
